A call to action?

December 20th, 2008 | 9 Comments | Posted in Business, Uncategorized

The Christmas party at Pier One, Mall of Asia was a blast!

I had a chance to meet the best of the ES-E-O-dot-P-H members and moderators last night and I had a real good chat with no less than the legendary Rostum (NetPh), the charitable Zaldy Dalisay (majorkontrapelo), the outspoken Neil (KapengBarako), the rich Arnold Alvarez, the young Kenneth, the unassuming Eric Marantan (my kabaleyan), the ES-E-O-dot-P-H only GurlAlien, maldita (not maldita at all), the silent Icezorg, the simple masterbetong, The active Kiddie and the Pastor Jeff himself.

Based on the chats I had, they have created a community that made a real good impression to the global audience making it a community that is larger than life. They know they are the life of it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Search Engine Marketing grew and mushroomed in the Philippines primarily because many of these members were real kickers and mentors for others to learn the craft. I myself, benefited from it just to set things straight although I may have long been into the realm of online marketing technically but when I found the group surging ranks and keywords right into the very heart of the search engines’ databases, my perspective changed.

Honestly, like I said before SEO is not a rocket science at all. But the heroine-like addiction to learn the ever-changing SE algorithms is real outstanding. Sleepless nights and money cannot equal the passion we all have to learn and grow our basics.

But then last night was a real awakening to most of us(or maybe just for me). It was one of the fruitful discussions with them. These are a few things that each and every member (I guess) present last night said. I believed it.

1. The  main objective of the forum is to create awareness in the Philippines about SEO/SEM and to profound every member’s knowledge in terms of SEM and Online Marketing through discussions and all.

2. It is clear to them that they are the life force of the forum. Without them, it is useless.

3. The credit should include every member of it.

4. IT SHOULD BE A NON-PROFIT forum.

5. It is a forum of real people with the passion to succeed.

When I conversed with these online moguls last night, I felt like I was at home. These are the kind of people that can dent a change to our country. Passionate and honest people.

Question is, Do we need another forum for us to move on with our real objectives?

In case the new forum pushes through, I would suggest that there should be a certain quorum we must reach first before we go for an election of officers to (SEC) register it for incorporation.

A clear policy is needed.

I guess this all-about it for now. I better go back to my Busby SEO Test contest strategy.

I hope you support my entry.

Anyone? :)
