Does Ezine Advertising For Web Traffic Still Work?

Posted by: virayvibe In: Ezine

One of the things you need to consider is you want to only publish your message in responsive ezines. This presents the first problem as most of the good ones are or very expensive, or wont accept any other ads as their own.

Another thing is that a lot of these ezines that are sent through email are normal email formats. Nothing fancy. And again, the only ads inside are usually ads they profit from themselves.

The old style of ezines is still out there too - but they usually don’t have very large lists. These ezines are written in the style of an email ezine, with one or two articles, resources, and advertisements listed as well.

If you are lucky enough to discover one of those big ezines with buyers, it’s often hard to get in. In the conventional way.

There is another way to get inside. You can contact the ezine owner personally, make them sign up for your affiliate program and give them a higher commission then you normally give to anyone. If they then recommend it to their list, you’ll usually get better results.

Never pay to advertise in an ezine that you have not read! You want to make sure that what the publisher is sending out is suitable, and valuable to the subscribers.

Also, if you invest, ask those figures. Ask if they can proof their claims like open rates from previous owners, people on their list, etc. A lot of ezine owners are dishonest about those. But this doesn’t mean you’ll get same results since it does depend on your ad, too.

If possible, instead of purchasing a simple ad, purchase top sponsorship, or purchase a solo ad. This will get you the most attention.

Last thing I’d like to add to all this is that the very best ezines also sell their ads through online networks. These will give you real bang for your buck as they’ll make sure to send your ad to a bunch of very high quality lists.

About the Busby SEO Test Contest & Gary Viray

I started my stint in the world wide web as an open-source backend programmer and then, over the years I just got entangled with graphical interfaces and UIs. I am a C# developer, PHP savvy programmer and I can code anything within the family of C/C++.

The road that led me to Online Marketing primarily on SEM and Blog Marketing is just a simple ebook. From then on, I combined my deep knowledge in programming and databases to develop my personal tools and scripts useful in SEO.

It fascinates me how the Search Engine algorithms are different now compared in the past. So up until now, I never stop unlocking their behaviors.

My relationship with the SEs is more of a Batman & Joker relationship thing - we complement each other. It is addictive.

Today, I am a full-blown Online Marketer maintaining a good number of sites out there. Making money out of it too.
