John Chow’s Blog Contest for Charity

Posted by: busby-seo-test In: Email Marketing

I just found that John Chow is holding a new contest to give away $6,000 in CASH! $5,000 would go to the charity of your choice and $1,000 will go to you to spend however you want. If I win, I would give the $5K to the Philippine National Red Cross and re-invest the $1,000 in my Busby SEO Test activities.

The contest is being sponsored by XR.com. XR.com is a tiny url service that converts a long url to a shorter version. For example, this long url - http://www.garyviray.com/scorpio-predictions-for-2008-2009-busby-seo-test.html - can be shortened in XR.com and will become http://xr.com/scorpio-2009

If you sign up for an account, you’ll get access to statistics and find out how many opened the link. This can be very helpful in tracking campaign clicks sent through e-mail, social networks, and micro-blogging sites like Twitter, Plurk, among others. Try it out!

Here are some that have joined so far:

About the Busby SEO Test Contest & Gary Viray

I started my stint in the world wide web as an open-source backend programmer and then, over the years I just got entangled with graphical interfaces and UIs. I am a C# developer, PHP savvy programmer and I can code anything within the family of C/C++.

The road that led me to Online Marketing primarily on SEM and Blog Marketing is just a simple ebook. From then on, I combined my deep knowledge in programming and databases to develop my personal tools and scripts useful in SEO.

It fascinates me how the Search Engine algorithms are different now compared in the past. So up until now, I never stop unlocking their behaviors.

My relationship with the SEs is more of a Batman & Joker relationship thing - we complement each other. It is addictive.

Today, I am a full-blown Online Marketer maintaining a good number of sites out there. Making money out of it too.

- Gary Viray, currently participating in the Busby SEO Test challenge.
