MTV EMERGE!
So the countdown for the MTV emerge will end tonight!
The MTV Emerge as far as I know is the search for the hottest emerging star today as seen through their MTV website. Oh well, those top 7 who will win the said award will get recording contracts to be given by Jeepney Music. I heard that the event/award is an MTV, Jeepney Music, and Department of Tourism collaboration that encourages every artist out there to participate and join the contest.
By the way, Jeepney Music is owned and managed by the Black Eyed Peas member, Apl.de.Ap who will basically mentor those soon-to-be winners music talents. Also, they will be formally introduced by Apl.de.Ap live concert on November 27. That will be exciting! Thrill!
Personally, this project is a good way of promoting arts and music in the country as well as motivate unheard Filipino music talents out there to finally shine and I am really impressed by DOT’s participation on this project. Oh well, DOT stands for Department of Tourism which the Philippine government agency responsible for encouraging, promoting and developing tourism as a major socio-economic activity, spreading its benefits to sectors of society. DOT’s current marketing slogan, 7,107 islands beyond the usual, highlights amazing Philippine destinations and activities.
